A Checklist for Your Life

A Checklist for Your Life is an extensive chronological checklist of items you should consider doing, or having someone do for you, from before you are conceived by your parents until after you die. You can start using the checklist at your current age or level of development, then review preceding items and ensure you've completed all desired items. The checklist is cross-referenced with the other checklists in The Checklist Book. It's a great gift idea for someone who is trying to get pregnant or someone who is from 0 to 120 year old. The checklist is available in The Checklist Book or separately at InfoPost.com. Here are brief excerpts from parts of the beginning, middle and end of the checklist:

Before mother starts trying to get pregnant:
PROSPECTIVE MOTHER:
See a doctor to ensure you're in good enough health to get pregnant and that you have no risk factors for a problem pregnancy
Get dental work taken care of
Take blood test for HIV

Age 5:
Consider having sealants put on applicable teeth o to help prevent cavities
Be aware that only 3 out of 4 children achieve night-time dryness by age of 5

Well before you die:
Advise family and friends of your desires in the event that you can only be kept alive by life support systems and there is no hope of recovery
Establish a living will to dictate what you would like done in the event you become no longer able to speak for yourself

The checklists on checklists.com and in The Checklist Book were developed by Don Parcher, a retired Navy carrier pilot (Commander). He flew the S-3 Viking ( photo of S-3 right before landing on the ship, 13 thumbnail S-3 photos which can be enlarged, S-3 info and photos), the TA-4 Skyhawk, the T-2 Buckeye and the T-28 Trojan. He used checklists to fly Navy aircraft safely and successfully and decided to develop checklists to help people everywhere get through their lives safely and successfully. He has been developing these checklists for over five years.

Don has a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Master's degree in Systems Management, both from the University of Southern California.
